2022 Nipaluna Nursery Highlights
A year since we sat in the Nipaluna Nursery Space and discussed applying for a grant with HCC!
HIGHLIGHTS of 2022 - 1st November 2022
Established a constitution, partnership agreement with Kick Start Arts and became incorporated.
Successful with the Hobart City Council $15,000 grant for setting up Nipaluna Nursery 2022
Set up extensive nursery infrastructure with nursery beds, irrigation systems, auditing of plants. Sourcing materials, working bees.
Involved 25 active regular and occasional volunteers contributing on a weekly basis (with cake!) in a positive dynamic space. Champions All!
Ken Jimmy Nel Anna Suzie Kathy Sarah Gyan Maggie Jill Ros Maggi, Ben, Ned ,Tom Katie Rick David, Rae, Lorne, Sue Beaumont, Big Picture students, Paulus, Linton, Flinders, Ant2 Open Day events at the Nursery.
Successful with a Science Week grant for $2500- August Field Day with over 30 participants, plant handover and planting of 600 plants at Ross
Field Day Species Hotels in the Midlands with Jimmy and Nel
Two Field Days to Hamilton and Hobart City Council Nursery
Germinated and potted up 6000+ seedlings. On way for 16,000 this year.
Received $500 for flight offset
Nipaluna and Kickstart Signage (thanks Maggie) Shade cloth (thanks Ros) Paving- (Thanks Jimmy)
Produced a brochure, Instagram and Facebook sites.
