How We Work

Nipaluna Nursery is governed by a skills-based Committee of Management under its constitution, and currently has 10 positions. Nipaluna Nursery holds an annual general meeting each year at which members have the opportunity to review the organisation’s performance and ask questions of the Management Committee.

Monthly meetings are held. Members bring a variety of skills including infrastructure development (and op shop scrutineer), education, food, farmer liaison and auditing. Some members just like to come and prick out plants.

Our Patron (Saint) is Dr Tanya Bailey who has been a restoration ecologist focussed on practical research in the Midlands of Tasmania for over 15 years. For her PhD Tanya investigated factors that constrain tree recruitment in the Midlands region suffering severe tree decline. She is the queen of Midlands Restoration!
